Even fewer (14%) state that they can integrate their system and the owner's system on more than half of projects. CONTRACTORS' RESPONSE Therefore, contractors are forced to take other approaches. ■ 42% say that they use both their own system and the owner's PMIS and do double entry on more than half of projects. ■ 34% use the owner's PMIS and do not use their own on more than half of projects. Both of these responses call into question their ability to benefit fully from their investment in a PMIS. OWNERS' PERSPECTIVE The owners recognize how frequently contractors have to do double entry and that it is rare for integration to occur between the two systems. Importantly, both owners and contractors note that it is rare for contractors to refuse to use the owner's PMIS. 4 SmartMarket Brief: Connecting Owners and Contractors Premier Par tner: e-Builder © Dodge Data & Analytics w w w.construction.com
