Improving Data Connectedness
MEANS OF IMPROVING DATA CONNECTEDNESS
Owners and contractors were asked to rate the level of value
that various means would have to improve data connectedness
across the team, from no value to very high value. Most (from
90% to 97%) believe each would provide some value. The chart at
right shows how many rate the value as high or very high for the
top five methods.
■
Interestingly, owners more frequently find these solutions
to be of high/very high value, often by a significant margin.
■
The highest percentage of owners and GCs alike give
a high/very high value rating for having a single common
platform. This demonstrates that once a company
recognizes the value of a single platform, they are far more
likely to see that it is critically important to improve data
connectedness.
[In order to improve our data connectedness] I think
just keep reinforcing it, and setting the expectation that
everyone engages with and follows the system. If everyone has
signed into it, and everyone is familiar with it, uses it, and comes
to realize its benefits, it becomes a self-fulfilling exercise.
