CASE STUDY "Instead of just collecting the information, we can actually use it to identify trends and improve our performance" • Electronic forms for better communications between the field and the office • Centralized data improves analysis and safety performance • Data binding to B2W operations database B2W INFORM MINGER CONSTRUCTION ADDING B2W INFORM EXPANDS THE ADVANTAGES OF THE ONE PLATFORM Safety, quality and efficiency have been three cornerstone principals since Patrick and Karen Minger founded Minger Construction in 1984. The addition of B2W Inform is benefiting the Minnesota based company in all three areas. Minger Construction began using B2W Estimate and added unified elements from the ONE Platform to manage field tracking and analysis as well as resource scheduling and dispatching. The company then turned to the B2W Inform electronic forms and data analysis solution, originally to collect safety information more effectively and efficiently in the field and to get it to the office faster. Use cases for Inform now range from Daily Crew Safety Briefing ("toolbox talk") and Report of Injury forms to Equipment Inspection, Daily Operations Journal, Utility Damage, and Risk & Safety Scorecard forms. "Filling out paper forms is cumbersome, and the lag time in getting the data back was a liability," explains safety coordinator Mike Nelson. "We would also get inconsistent data depending on the effort, accuracy or the style of the person filling out the forms." Having current and historical safety data stored electronically in one database also makes it easier for the contractor to generate reports. "Instead of just collecting the information, we can actually use it to identify trends and improve our performance," Nelson says. "We can reference past data and generate reports without the tedious, manual effort and sorting through papers that was required in the past,"
