CASE STUDY B2W INFORM ADVANCES THE ABILITY TO "GO PAPERLESS" FOR FIELD DATA B2W Inform has emerged as a key asset for Bluebird Contracting Services and the Trotter & Morton Group of Companies, as the organizations move toward "paperless" field data collection. Bluebird provides a wide range of heavy civil construction services across Alberta, Canada. The company was an early adopter of the B2W solution to create and manage electronic forms and to mine data from those forms. Improvements in efficiency and accuracy over paper-based processes were immediately realized, according to Scott Adams, the B2W Systems Specialist at the Trotter & Morton Group of Companies. Adams assists Bluebird in optimizing the full, unified B2W Software ONE Platform for estimating, field tracking, resource scheduling and equipment maintenance. He is also responsible for rolling out applicable B2W solutions, including B2W Inform, at other Trotter & Morton entities. Bluebird started using B2W Inform for its safety program, converting forms for weekly meetings, inspections and incident reporting—and the processes they support—from paper to the electronic format. Forms at Bluebird and Trotter & Morton were 100-percent paper when Adams got a preview of B2W Inform at a B2W User Conference and presented the software to his management team with the idea that it could be an ideal solution to the administrative burden of managing paper files. "We looked at a few other options for electronic forms and data analysis, but none of them were nearly as user friendly as Inform," he recalls.
