CASE STUDY BITUMINOUS ROADWAYS Bituminous Roadways started out in 1946 as a three-man crew doing residential asphalt work in South Minneapolis. Today, the company employs over 100 people and completes commercial and industrial projects throughout the greater Twin Cities area with the help of B2W Estimate and Track elements. In the past, Bituminous Roadways had used spreadsheets to manage estimating and bidding, but as the workload increased, so did the complexity of the bids. The company needed a solution to standardize bids and reporting capabilities that would allow management to quickly view estimate summary information from across the company. The return on investment was immediate when B2W Estimate was implemented, according to Estimating department manager John Anderson. Despite the feature-rich functionality of the software, he says it is intuitive and easy to learn, so estimators were up and running in almost no time. "The biggest advantage of B2W Software is having a live database to work with, and the seemingly unlimited types of reports available to us," says Anderson.
