Potential Impact Although net hiring was essentially flat, all sectors and most regions saw modest hiring gains in Q1 of 2023. This follows a consistent pattern of growth as construction firms continue to try to build up their workforces. As labor has been an issue for many years, more hiring gains are expected, but declines in projects and contract values may offset any new major growth.
