"Our biggest challenge, with Excel, was extracting the data for reporting," he explains. "This was a very labor intensive process, with a lot of redundant data entry work required." Management Reporting features built into B2W Estimate and the B2W Web Services capabilities allowed Wave Broadband to streamline that process and build a bridge between the estimating software and the reporting system from Tableau. "The variety of the reports and the ability to customize allow us to really see what we are selling and assess how those projects are performing," says Ihlen. Ihlen, who has more than 15 years of experience in construction estimating, says the transition to B2W Estimate was very smooth and that his team finds the tool intuitive and much easier to use than the spreadsheets. The Bid Scheduler feature helps him to manage volume across estimators.
