CONTINENTAL PAVING
New Hampshire's Continental Paving selected B2W Estimate for the
flexibility and the intuitive interface of the software. Founded in the 1970s,
the company performs site work and paving services for commercial
developments, roads, highways and airports in the southern part of the
state and is a supplier of asphalt and aggregate materials.
Estimating With spreadsheets was a satisfactory method for
Continental, but it prevented estimators from tapping into their prior
estimating efforts easily and efficiently. This limitation prompted the
decision to switch over to specialized estimating software, which
was soon followed by an evaluation of several packages, including
Hard Dollar (Now InEight) and HCSS. B2W founder and owner Paul
McKeon also introduced estimator/project manager Bruce Bauer to his
company's B2W Estimate solution and the B2W team based at its New
Hampshire headquarters.
"We liked that B2W Estimate was structured in a way that was very
intuitive and allowed us to do our work the way we already worked," says
Bauer. He adds that the estimators were also attracted to the program's
flexibility. They could use as many or as few of the B2W features as they
wanted, an option not totally possible with the other systems.
"We could literally realize a beneficial return in time savings from the day
the program was installed – made possible only by the excellent industry-
specific features and program flexibility," remarks Bauer.
