NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT IN THE TIME
REQUIRED FOR CONTRACTORS TO
ASSEMBLE APPLICATIONS FOR PAYMENT
Owners and contractors who selected the submission
of progress payment requests by the contractor as a top
step to accelerate to improve the progress and payment
workflow (see page 11) were asked to compare the length
of time currently needed for contractors to put together
applications of payment to the ideal (but realistic) length of
time that process should take.
■
47% of owners and 58% of contractors believe that
the current process takes more time than it should.
■
Only around 40% of owners and contractors think
that it takes about the right amount of time.
These findings show that a large portion of the industry
recognizes that this process should be improved. The
chart on the following page identifies the ways owners and
contractors believe would be most effective to accelerate
the process.
